Book Flood Podcast Gets Shout-out from California State Library

The recent Compass newsletter from the California State Library had a very nice mention of the Book Flood Podcast and the interview we had with California State Library Greg Lucas. See below for the mention.

The Book Flood podcast, hosted by retired teacher librarian and [Library Services] manager Tom Nixon (formerly of Fresno Unified), had a special guest last week: California State Librarian Greg Lucas. Greg talked about his career as a political journalist (San Francisco Chronicle) and his move to leading the State Library – and emphasized the importance of online school-library resources for children and teens, including those provided by COMPASS.

This is the third time we’ve seen familiar faces talking about libraries on Book Flood. Jonathan Hunt, who manages the library programs for the San Diego County Office of Education and coordinates the teacher librarian program at San Jose State University, was on the week previous. And Nick Glass, founder of TeachingBooks, joined him last month.

Is this the first time you’re hearing about Tom Nixon’s interviews? Check out these sessions and much more on the Book Flood Podcast channel on YouTube.
